Philomena Pichler

Philomena Pichler

Österreich

The Austrian painter was born in 1947 in St. Johann in Tyrol and has lived and worked in Vienna for over 20 years. Already in 1964 she received the recognition award of the Kölner Stadtanzeiger. The self-taught and lateral thinker studied with Prof. Opperer and Prof. Otte (Salzburg) and with Prof. Gerald Nitsche (Innsbruck). Three semesters of lithography & lithography with Mag. Doz. Wojtek Krzywoblocki, Mag. Lebzelter and Mag. Dr. Kodera (Vienna) completed the education. Pichler's works are convincing because of their pioneering approach towards sustainability in art. For she is a master of the sensitive handling of already used materials and "created" art. An absolutely innovative, exemplary approach to creating sustainable "valuable" things with art. Object art became a significant element of the œuvre. Abstraction and figuration complement each other and form a harmonious whole. The color focus is on yellow, red, blue, white and black. Numerous exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Italy, Hungary and the USA.
