MAGIC LIGHTS

Exhibition 02. - 30.11.2016

"The real voyage of discovery strives not
to new lands, but to
to see things with new eyes"

Norwegian proverb

CHANGING THINGS TOGETHER WITH ART

November is all about the magic light at the contemporary BURN-IN Gallery & Think Tank. CECILIA FLATENS works in reduced color enchant worldwide and create a mystical depth with a strongly emotionalizing atmosphere. Abruptly abduct into the vastness of the North and tell fascinating stories with depth.

A symbolic approach that clearly reflects the philosophy of BURN-IN. Diversity, innovation and creativity belong together and are important success factors for companies. In June 2016, Frederik G. Pferdt, Head of Innovation & Creativity at Google (California) presented his approach as part of a forum of CREATIVE INDUSTRIES OÖ at the Linz Tobacco Factory and showed how enormously important this approach is and what potential it holds.

ShARE KNOW-HOW, FEDERATE POTENTIAL.

The interdisciplinary BURN-IN team goes one step further and not only provides the theoretical background, but navigates this process together with companies. From the igniting symbiosis of management theory and art intervention emerge real change processes. In this process, storytelling and iceberg model play an elementary role.

Past exhibitions on Pluralism, Reduction and Body Sceneries impressively illuminated the 2016 annual theme DIVERSITY CONTRA IDENTITY. At the second BURN-IN BUSINESS CIRCLE on Nov. 24, 2016, we will develop new projects together with interested companies, political representatives and artists.

The MAGIC LIGHTS of the Chilean CECILIA FLATEN seduce!

Cecilia Flaten

Cecilia Flaten was born in Santiago de Chile in 1950. Her mother, a prima donna in the National Ballet in Santiago, gave her access to the art world as a young child, initially in the theater. Dance was her medium for a long time, which was eventually replaced by painting studies from 1993 to 1998. She studied oil painting with Alejandro Liana Greve, Eduardo Castillo and Mari' Eugenia Reyes.

Her paintings in reduced colors are inspired by the Arctic landscape, the midnight sun and the Northern Lights. The paintings are a mixture of oil paint and lapis lazuli pigment from the Andes. This precious pigment creates a mystical depth in the artist's horizontal skyscapes. Cecilia Flaten creates a perfect interplay of light and shadow, of an atmosphere that can only be found in the magical light of the north.
