In November, BURN-IN presents selected works in the exhibition Missing Culture of the Upper Austrian artist Roland F. Danner and combines them with works of art by Tomislav Sabolic (Croatia), Tatiana Siedlova (Slovakia), Igor Navrotskyi (Slovakia), and Marifé Nuñez (Spain) from the current BURN-IN depot.
Danner's nine nearly monochrome works (mixed media, photographs and an object) describe thereby exactly his view of the world and its culture. Unknown Planet, Quiet and Lost already take our next year's theme of co|evolution and furthermore question the symbiosis of Intuition, Emotion and Ratio.
Holism of culture and
environment/nature.
His works thereby speak a clear language and skillfully resolve the superficial contradictions. The holistic view of nature and culture, quasi the "big picture", is a very personal statement of the introverted artist, in the direction of a cultural identity and perhaps also a turning point. The German political scientist Thomas Meyer speaks in this context of the ways of believing. (personal beliefs), ways of life (ways of living, customs) and ways of living together (values), which describe the wholeness of culture and environment/nature. A fundamental issue, which is also highly relevant for the EU and is reflected in many current projects.
Nine artistic positions by three European artists frame the exhibition.
Tatiana Siedlova and Marifé Nuñez skillfully question the female role model from the perspective of strong women and Tomislav Sabolic grants us a view largely marked by lightness and cheerfulness behind the scenes of his hometown of Varaždin.
Danner's artistic oeuvre includes graphic art, painting, photography and, in conjunction with selected painted found objects also object art. In his current creations, "Concrete Works," the artist incorporates computer-processed photographs as well as mixed techniques (mixed media) in his artistic design harmoniously with.
Through the diversity of his use of media, the artist succeeds in a unique and very convincing way to create a holism in artistic expression. Thereby he works in his creations in a multi-layered working method, i.e. the media association of his images follows a complex overall composition, worked out in several stages elaborated overall composition.
