Moving Nature | Longing and Desire for the Original

Exhibition 01. - 31.03.2017

Nature never deceives us. It is always we who deceive ourselves.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau

The two artists in the March exhibition at BURN-IN Gallery have dedicated their nature paintings entirely to the annual theme of INTUITION AND EMOTION.

The call BACK TO NATURE by the writer and philosopher JEAN-JACQUES ROUSSEAU already influenced many scientists in the 18th century and triggered later counter-movements to industrialization. Also in the present nature is a trend, which leads from numerous bio supermarkets over the fascination for Urban Gardening to the city flight of young families.

The urge to get outside creates a new human-nature relationship in modern leisure culture and transfers nature to a fascinating object. You can see the fascination of capturing, reducing and transforming nature into an artistic work in the works of Josefine Blaich and Isabelle Habegger. Both have already participated in exhibitions at the BURN-IN Gallery.

The subject of art in construction is particularly preoccupied with the Swiss artist Isabelle Habegger. On the occasion of the 800th anniversary celebration of the municipality of Wollerau(CH), she created a movable CUBUS made of chrome-nickel steel.

"Panta rhei - Everything flows," said the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, alluding to the eternal change of being. Because "In life, nothing stops, it goes on and on," according to the artist. The CUBUS symbolizes the two important characteristics of the municipality: mobility (the cube turns in the wind) and stability (clear forms) and thus becomes an authentic, identity-creating cultural ambassador in the canton of Schwyz. Folder and project description CUBUS.

The example shows that holistic communication is also reflected in an authentic, strategically planned corporate architecture, a built identity . The building structure becomes a brand ambassador and "speaks" to the environment, tells exciting stories and is a central component of the corporate identity of companies and municipal institutions. The BURN-IN program includes: Facade paintings, artistic ensembles, installations, glass art, sculptures.... Commissioned art is gaining more and more importance!

Individuality as a secret luxury.

Private lifestyles

Faith Popcorn presented already in the 80s the megatrend of cocooning, the "exclusive spinning in" in their own, perfectly staged living worlds. The logical consequence: discerning consumers rely on the creation of unique living worlds, which are created in collaboration with international artists entirely according to personal ideas. Art and individual interior design turns out to be a tingling elixir of life and touches through its uniqueness and excellence. Life is a very personal composition.

Josefine Blaich

"My subject matter is color," says Josefine Blaich. She was born in Klagenfurt in 1949. Her artistic training began in 1994 in various techniques at the Summer Academy with Prof. Karrer, Prof. Ciuha, Peter Kohl and Luca Anticevic. She completed her 6-semester studies at the Free Academy of Art and Philosophy in Klagenfurt on Lake Wörthersee in 2011 with a diploma. This was followed by exhibitions and participations in Austria and Croatia. In 2008 she won the 1st Culture Prize and in 2010 the Herkules Small Art Competition at "Gemma Kunst schauen" in Villach. In 2012, she won the Extempore in Groznjan, Croatia.

Blaich creates a tension between the object and the painterly concept of color. Her depictive, atmospheric landscape paintings are characterized by colour vibrations of both warm and cold colors that blend together harmoniously.
