The cosmopolitan Choctaw Indian DG Smalling from Oklahoma City (USA) inspires with his "one line art" on mighty wood panels. The uninterrupted line defines the contours of the object, the artist achieves a completion as a two-dimensional image by adding paint or ink. He transfers his tribe's "hieroglyphic art" and traditional symbols into contemporary art, both in terms of technique and content.
For the private selection, we chose works of the Choctaw tribe and traditional costume couples from Austria, created exclusively for the exhibition Diversity versus Identity - Values and Culture in August 2016.
